Tony Carter, Jr.

Rev. Carter was born January 12, 1955 in Brandon, Mississippi.  Pastor Carter is a graduate of Pearl High School class of 1973.   Pastor Carter served his country in the United States Army from 1981 to 1983 and received an Honorable Discharge December of 1983.  He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Western Baptist College in 1995 and has pursued his Master of Divinity at Central Baptist Theological Seminary as well.

On a personal level, the joy of his life is his family.  He loves to spend time with his wife and kids and especially adores his grandchildren.  He loves to have fun and enjoys making people laugh.  He is a clown at heart.  He loves to fish and enjoys all kinds of sports. He is an avid coin collector.

Pastor Carter is a people person and cherishes serving God's people.  He has a real passion for seeing people grow spiritually.  He loves to study the Holy Bible and loves to teach God's Word as a means of encouraging people to grow and trust God.  He currently serves as First Vice President of the Missionary Baptist State Convention of Kansas and as Corresponding Secretary of the Kaw Valley District Association.

Rev. Carter has served as the Senior Pastor of the Salem Missionary Baptist Church since April of 2002 to the present.  He also served as Pastor of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atchison, Kansas from December 1994 to March 2002.  He has been married to his wife Francine for 31 years and they have two daughters, Latonia and Jasmine, and two sons, Tony III and Bruce.  They have 11 grandchildren.
