The Department of Christian Education
The basis for a Christian education program is given by Jesus in Matthew 28:19-20: making disciples, baptizing them, and “teaching” them to obey everything I have commanded you. “A noteworthy feature of the great commission is that it bids the apostles and the church of all ages to teach! they must teach, whether or not men give heed. The Department of Christian Education encompasses the Sunday School, New Members orientation, Children Church and the *Good News Club.
*The Good News Club, is under the auspices of Child Evangelism Fellowship. Salem’s volunteers meets with participating elementary schools in the Kansas City, KS community and teach the children about the “Good News” of Jesus.
